we are a collective of professional choral musicians in the gta who believe in music’s potential power for healing, building community, and experiencing joy. we are on a mission to bring singing and choral music to communities and workplaces, especially those underserved and/or seeking the therapeutic effects of music.
Our Team
paul genyk-berezowsky (he/him)
artistic director, conductor, singer
paul has been raising voices and bringing people together in song for 15 years. he has conducted choirs throughout canada and is currently part of the artistic leadership team at the toronto mendelssohn choir, canada’s premiere symphonic choir.
a firm believer in music’s ability to promote wellbeing, paul excels at leading therapeutic choir programming including – over the past decade – for groups of physicians, healthcare workers, and individuals with intellectual differences. he has also produced concerts in benefit of causes such as brain tumour research and patient support.
paul is an active performer with his own voice as a collaborating artist with anima early music, a member of both the tafelmusik chamber choir and the toronto mendelssohn singers, and a frequent collaborator with others.
lesley bouza (she/her)
music therapist, singer
canadian soprano and accredited music therapist lesley bouza is happiest when she is using music to connect to others, whether on the stage or in health care settings. lesley completed her vocal performance studies at the royal welsh college of music and drama, and has relished her experiences performing with musical ensembles such as the elora singers, les violons du roy, the toronto mendelssohn choir, the nathaniel dett chorale and the swingle singers. in her work as a music therapist, lesley is passionate about the potential of music to support well-being in various and diverse client populations, with a particular interest in using music to support mental health for individuals and groups from every age and walk of life.
the auxilium singers
supportive / helping singers
a collective of professional singers with an interest in using their skills to support others’ singing and wellbeing, members of the auxilium singers act as choral section leaders for cantio sana’s therapeutic choirs. besides being kind-hearted, members of the auxilium singers are some of the finest choral singers in the gta – they have sung with and sing regularly with the tmchoir & tmsingers, elora singers, tafelmusik chamber choir, choir 21, and others.
